日期

2023-10-06 - 2023-10-15

The Original Festival has taken on a new name this year, and as the Songyanland Festival, the focus is further concentrated on the ethos and the developmental context of the site, with the festival now taking place every three years in a curatorial format. In order to highlight the importance of originality and creativity, the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) is positioned as the “Creative Hub of Taipei,” and the festival was first launched in 2012, having since presented over 100 original works of art. Creators of various genres are invited according to the year’s theme, presenting visual artworks integrated with interdisciplinary content. With public participation encouraged, groups and organizations that are based near the park are linked to facilitate collaborations between different industries and fields. With sustainability as the goal, art is continuously applied to energize the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and to utilize this cultural heritage site in creative ways.

The following 9 contemporary artists have created site-specific works for the festival: Anang Saptoto, Yoshiaki Kaihatsu, Ding Chien-Chung, Wu Bo-Sianing, Chuang Che-Wei, Hsieh Feng-Chen, Chan Chiao-Chun, Zheng Jun-Peng, and Les Petites Choses Production. With the world opening up once again and international tourists making their way back, on view for the first time in this year’s exhibition are artworks by international artists, with different perspectives proposed using art as our shared language. The artworks respond to the ethos of the site, its history of labor and production, its industrial context, as well as the ecosystem, sound, and technological development that are currently observed in the park, with its course of metamorphosis throughout different moments in time collectively shared.
