(Bamboo X Good Idea)
2026-06-12 - 2026-06-21
Taiwan is an island that has lived alongside bamboo for generations.
Looking back, bamboo was once deeply embedded in everyday Taiwanese life. From windbreak fences and roof structures to household objects and daily utensils, bamboo shaped many of the familiar landscapes and memories of the island. As lifestyles and materials evolved over time, however, the relationship between people and bamboo gradually changed.
Today, bamboo is no longer viewed solely as a traditional material. With its low-carbon potential, renewability, and resilient characteristics, bamboo is re-entering contemporary architecture, design, and everyday applications in new ways.
Organized by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, and executed by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, “2026 Taiwan Bamboo Expo: Good Bamboo Ideas — Inspirations Grown from Bamboo” transforms the Taipei exhibition into a transitional bamboo pathway connecting mountains and cities. Through the perspectives of primary production, secondary processing, and contemporary applications, the exhibition revisits Taiwan’s bamboo culture and industrial development, gathering scattered inspirations from everyday life into a collective contemporary narrative.
